Professional Development Programme (PDP)
‘Life as a teacher begins the day you realize you are always a Learner’. It is essential to continue the learning journey, keeping our skills and knowledge up to date and continue to work in an environment with cohesiveness, team spirit and aim at maximizing the learning goals of the Organization. Falling into line, Hindustan International School, Guindy, conducted a Professional Development Programme (PDP) for the personal and professional development of their Pedagogical team for their learning and growth in the new academic year 2019-2020.
When expectations are set the team will be aware of the outcomes, boundaries, and objectives they have to work towards in accomplishing their Personal and Organizational goals. Therefore, the three days were filled with the intense schedule planned at enlightening the Academic Team of HIS.
The Three-Day Programme covered a spectacular session on the Ethos and Spirit of HIS, Parent Outreach Programme and an impressive and knowledgeable session on Cambridge Pedagogy and Reverse Lesson Planning (UBD) by Ms. Sunmita Shinde, the Principal. Hindustan Schools Joint Director Lt. General Mr. Bobby Mathews presented a stupendous session on the topics, ’10 Teaching Strategies and Effective Teaching’ and on ‘10 Minute Learning Method’ to innovate and enhance teaching Math, Spellings, GK and English. The team was also refurbished with ‘Do’s and Don’ts for Teachers’, Team Building and Camaraderie, MAG, ASA and CCA.
The teachers were equipped with the knowledge on filling up LogBook, Attendance Record, Work Done Registers, Anecdotal and Reflection Journals. We had senior teachers drilling the team on Cambridge Assessment and Policies. Teachers were also orientated with the fundamentals of Formative and Summative Assessments, Rubrics and Bloom’s Taxonomy.
The three-day session was filled with well-informed knowledge through the PDP which gave great insights to our learning journey and enthusiasm. With positivity and confidence, the team is ready to breeze through the year ahead.
